This makes them ideal elements for creating cabinet locks, tool holders, inspection hatches or door closing systems. They are widely used in carpentry for mounting furniture fronts, where an invisible yet strong connection is required.
Important mounting note: Neodymium is a sintered material, which means it is very hard but at the same time brittle like ceramic. When tightening the magnet, moderation should be exercised – we recommend tightening by hand with feeling. Using an impact driver or tightening the screw too hard will almost certainly cause the magnet to crack. It is also worth using a thin rubber or plastic washer to eliminate stresses.
For applications requiring pairing (e.g., box closures), remember to select attracting magnets (one with the N pole on the chamfer, the other with the S pole). If you plan to use them for speakers or physics experiments (levitation on a tube), check the inner hole dimension carefully to fit your project.
