Channel (rail) magnetic holders – extreme force

very strong holders for industrial mounting

  • Construction: sandwich system (steel-magnet-steel) in U-profile.

  • Holes: usually two holes for screws (stable mounting).

  • Capacity: very high field concentration on a small area.

  • Durability: steel trough protects magnets from impacts.

  • Use: heavy doors, flaps, robot grippers, instruments.

  • Working conditions: standard up to 80°C, vibration resistance.

Channel (rail) holders are one of the most efficient magnetic systems available on the market. Their construction is based on a U-shaped steel profile, in which neodymium magnets are placed. Steel walls act as pole pieces that short-circuit the magnetic field directly on the contact surface. Effect? A small, flat holder can hold extreme weight, often exceeding traditional cup holders.

Professional application:
Due to the flat shape and the presence of usually two mounting holes, channel holders are ideal for surface mounting where deep holes cannot be drilled. They work great as latches for heavy industrial gates, ventilation flaps, in industrial robot grippers, and as fastening elements in welding fixtures. Their steel housing provides excellent mechanical protection for magnets, making them resistant to difficult workshop conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Choose a device designed for the intended handling task and check its rated conditions, attachment point and the steel being gripped. A basic permanent-magnet holder is not a certified device for lifting a load over people.

Compare the catalogue pull rating with the actual steel thickness, surface condition, gap and load direction. Grip along a vertical surface differs from perpendicular pull. Add an independent mechanical safeguard where falling would cause harm.

Check the coating, housing and permitted operating conditions on the individual product card. Rubber can help protect a painted surface, but do not assume that every holder is suitable for permanent immersion or salt spray.

Select an internal or external thread to match the part being attached. Then check the holder dimensions, pull rating, surface condition and moisture protection. Dirt and gaps can reduce practical grip.
