Remember that sintered neodymium is brittle – for permanent seating, we recommend industrial glues two-component (epoxy), which guarantee connection durability and do not react with the protective nickel coating. It is important to avoid hitting the magnet against hard surfaces during gluing, as this may lead to micro-cracks or chipping of the anti-corrosion coating.

The standard N38 grade ensures an optimal price-to-power ratio, however, for more demanding applications (e.g., in high temperatures or where every Gauss counts), we offer grades N42, N45, N50, and N52 on request, as well as high-temperature versions (H, SH, UH, EH), which can work even at 200 degrees Celsius without losing magnetic properties. Applications for cylindrical magnets
A round shape helps when selecting a magnet for a round recess, a closure or a device prototype. Diameter and height must match the installation space; the grade alone does not determine the force of the finished joint.
Before ordering, consider the gap to the steel, load direction and protection of the brittle magnet. Use the magnet calculator (v2 — engineering), then check the temperature limit and coating on the chosen model's page. For a flat recess, compare block magnets.
How to select a cylindrical magnet
Diameter and height: start with the recess
A cylindrical magnet has a circular cross-section. Check diameter D and height H, and read the tolerance on the individual product page. Allow space for adhesive or covering material when present in the joint. This additional gap affects attraction. For a flat rectangular recess, compare block magnets.
Material grade and magnetisation direction
Grades such as N38 or N52 do not replace dimensions or a magnetisation specification. Axially magnetised versions have poles on the end faces; diametrically magnetised versions have poles on opposite sides of the cylinder. Check the product variant, particularly when using a sensor or a second magnet. Do not transfer a temperature limit from one grade to another.
Catalogue pull force versus an actual joint
Attraction to thick, clean steel does not automatically describe performance through plastic or paint, or under a sliding load. Compare options in the magnet calculator (v2 — engineering). For axial field and mass, also use the field parameter calculator (v1 — legacy). Calculations are a model; test the actual assembly before installation.
Installation and business orders
Sintered magnets are brittle: do not drill them or allow them to collide. Match the coating to the working environment and check the model's temperature limit.
