Weaknesses
- At very strong impacts they can crack, therefore we advise placing them in special holders. A metal housing provides additional protection against damage and increases the magnet's durability.
- When exposed to high temperature, neodymium magnets experience a drop in strength. Often, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, their power decreases (depending on the size, as well as shape of the magnet). For those who need magnets for extreme conditions, we offer [AH] versions withstanding up to 230°C
- They rust in a humid environment - during use outdoors we suggest using waterproof magnets e.g. in rubber, plastic
- We recommend casing - magnetic holder, due to difficulties in producing nuts inside the magnet and complicated forms.
- Health risk resulting from small fragments of magnets are risky, when accidentally swallowed, which gains importance in the context of child health protection. Furthermore, small components of these products are able to complicate diagnosis medical in case of swallowing.

Holding force characteristics
Maximum holding power of the magnet – what it depends on?
- on a plate made of structural steel, optimally conducting the magnetic field
- possessing a massiveness of min. 10 mm to avoid saturation
- with a surface cleaned and smooth
- under conditions of gap-free contact (surface-to-surface)
- for force acting at a right angle (in the magnet axis)
- in temp. approx. 20°C
Practical aspects of lifting capacity – factors
- Space between surfaces – even a fraction of a millimeter of separation (caused e.g. by veneer or unevenness) diminishes the magnet efficiency, often by half at just 0.5 mm.
- Load vector – highest force is obtained only during perpendicular pulling. The force required to slide of the magnet along the plate is typically several times smaller (approx. 1/5 of the lifting capacity).
- Substrate thickness – to utilize 100% power, the steel must be sufficiently thick. Paper-thin metal limits the lifting capacity (the magnet "punches through" it).
- Material type – the best choice is pure iron steel. Cast iron may attract less.
- Surface condition – ground elements guarantee perfect abutment, which improves field saturation. Uneven metal weaken the grip.
- Temperature influence – hot environment reduces magnetic field. Exceeding the limit temperature can permanently demagnetize the magnet.
Holding force was checked on the plate surface of 20 mm thickness, when the force acted perpendicularly, in contrast under parallel forces the load capacity is reduced by as much as 75%. Moreover, even a minimal clearance between the magnet’s surface and the plate lowers the load capacity.

Serious injuries
Mind your fingers. Two powerful magnets will snap together instantly with a force of massive weight, crushing anything in their path. Exercise extreme caution!
Handling rules
Handle with care. Rare earth magnets attract from a long distance and connect with huge force, often faster than you can react.
Dust explosion hazard
Fire warning: Neodymium dust is highly flammable. Do not process magnets in home conditions as this may cause fire.
Magnetic interference
A powerful magnetic field disrupts the operation of compasses in smartphones and GPS navigation. Maintain magnets near a smartphone to prevent damaging the sensors.
Maximum temperature
Control the heat. Exposing the magnet to high heat will permanently weaken its magnetic structure and pulling force.
Sensitization to coating
Medical facts indicate that nickel (the usual finish) is a strong allergen. If you have an allergy, refrain from touching magnets with bare hands or opt for coated magnets.
Shattering risk
NdFeB magnets are ceramic materials, meaning they are very brittle. Clashing of two magnets leads to them shattering into small pieces.
Implant safety
Health Alert: Strong magnets can turn off pacemakers and defibrillators. Do not approach if you have medical devices.
Adults only
Absolutely store magnets out of reach of children. Ingestion danger is significant, and the consequences of magnets clamping inside the body are fatal.
