Cons
- Susceptibility to cracking is one of their disadvantages. Upon strong impact they can break. We recommend keeping them in a strong case, which not only secures them against impacts but also raises their durability
- Neodymium magnets lose power when exposed to high temperatures. After reaching 80°C, many of them experience permanent drop of power (a factor is the shape as well as dimensions of the magnet). We offer magnets specially adapted to work at temperatures up to 230°C marked [AH], which are very resistant to heat
- They oxidize in a humid environment - during use outdoors we advise using waterproof magnets e.g. in rubber, plastic
- Limited ability of creating nuts in the magnet and complicated forms - recommended is cover - magnetic holder.
- Health risk related to microscopic parts of magnets are risky, when accidentally swallowed, which becomes key in the aspect of protecting the youngest. Furthermore, small components of these products can disrupt the diagnostic process medical after entering the body.

Holding force characteristics
Maximum lifting force for a neodymium magnet – what contributes to it?
- using a plate made of mild steel, functioning as a ideal flux conductor
- whose transverse dimension reaches at least 10 mm
- characterized by smoothness
- with direct contact (without coatings)
- under perpendicular force direction (90-degree angle)
- in stable room temperature
Lifting capacity in real conditions – factors
- Gap between magnet and steel – every millimeter of separation (caused e.g. by varnish or dirt) diminishes the magnet efficiency, often by half at just 0.5 mm.
- Loading method – catalog parameter refers to detachment vertically. When applying parallel force, the magnet holds much less (often approx. 20-30% of nominal force).
- Substrate thickness – for full efficiency, the steel must be sufficiently thick. Thin sheet restricts the attraction force (the magnet "punches through" it).
- Steel grade – the best choice is pure iron steel. Hardened steels may attract less.
- Surface condition – ground elements ensure maximum contact, which increases field saturation. Rough surfaces reduce efficiency.
- Temperature – heating the magnet causes a temporary drop of induction. It is worth remembering the thermal limit for a given model.
Lifting capacity testing was performed on plates with a smooth surface of suitable thickness, under a perpendicular pulling force, whereas under shearing force the holding force is lower. Moreover, even a slight gap between the magnet and the plate decreases the holding force.

NdFeB magnets are ceramic materials, meaning they are prone to chipping. Collision of two magnets leads to them shattering into small pieces.
Flammability
Powder created during grinding of magnets is flammable. Avoid drilling into magnets without proper cooling and knowledge.
Data carriers
Avoid bringing magnets close to a purse, computer, or TV. The magnetic field can destroy these devices and erase data from cards.
Implant safety
Health Alert: Strong magnets can deactivate pacemakers and defibrillators. Do not approach if you have medical devices.

Handle with care. Rare earth magnets attract from a long distance and snap with massive power, often quicker than you can react.
Do not overheat magnets
Keep cool. Neodymium magnets are sensitive to heat. If you require operation above 80°C, ask us about HT versions (H, SH, UH).
Allergic reactions
Warning for allergy sufferers: The nickel-copper-nickel coating contains nickel. If skin irritation occurs, immediately stop working with magnets and wear gloves.
Magnetic interference
GPS units and smartphones are extremely sensitive to magnetism. Direct contact with a strong magnet can permanently damage the internal compass in your phone.
Swallowing risk
Adult use only. Small elements pose a choking risk, causing serious injuries. Store out of reach of kids and pets.
Crushing force
Risk of injury: The attraction force is so great that it can result in blood blisters, crushing, and even bone fractures. Protective gloves are recommended.
