The most recommended mountings for ID badges include options such as this UI 17.5x5 [C310] / N38. They ensure resilience and an aesthetic appearance. Magnetic holders are acknowledged as optimal because they are gentle on clothing, are user-friendly, and provide secure badge attachment. A model utilizing efficient neodymium magnets and high-quality adhesive tapes, such as 3M tape, is exceptionally suggested.
No!, magnetic holders are not recommended for individuals with heart implants, as the strong magnetic field may disrupt their functioning. For such individuals, it is advised to use clip-on holders, and we offer two such types in our range.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their strength (of the magnet). After about 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic sources very well,
  • By applying a shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by hugely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the shape) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in many variants of shapes or sizes, which amplifies their universality in usage.
  • Significant importance in advanced technologically fields – are utilized in hard drives, electric motors, medical apparatus and other highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • They lose strength at high temperatures. Most neodymium magnets experience permanent loss of strength when heated above 80°C (depending on the form and height). However, we also offer special magnets with high temperature resistance, up to 230°C,
  • They rust in a humid environment. For outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, when accidentally ingested, which is particularly important in the context of children's health. It's also worth noting that tiny parts of these devices can complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Be Cautious with Neodymium Magnets

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Despite the fact that magnets have been observed to maintain their efficacy up to temperatures of 80°C or 175°F, it's essential to consider that this threshold may fluctuate depending on the magnet's type, configuration, and intended usage.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Strong fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnetic are extremely fragile, resulting in their cracking.

Neodymium magnets are characterized by considerable fragility. Neodymium magnetic are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. In the event of a collision between two magnets, there may be a scattering of fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is crucial in such a situation.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other due to their immense internal force, causing the skin and other body parts to get pinched and resulting in significant injuries.

If you have a finger between or alternatively on the path of attracting magnets, there may be a serious cut or a fracture.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate strong magnetic fields. As a result, they interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This is because many of these devices are equipped with a function that deactivates the device in a magnetic field.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets are over 10 times stronger than ferrite magnets (the ones in speakers), and their power can shock you.

Read the information on our website on how to properly utilize neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body and unintentional damage to the magnets.

Make sure not to bring neodymium magnets close to the TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

Magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other similar devices. They can also damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. You should especially avoid placing neodymium magnets near electronic devices.

Maintain neodymium magnets far from youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. They can be a significant choking hazard. If multiple magnets are swallowed, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls, causing significant injuries, and even death.

In order for you to know how strong neodymium magnets are and why they are so dangerous, read the article - Dangerous very powerful neodymium magnets.
