The most recommended holders for ID badges include options such as this UI 45x13x6 [C323] / N38. They offer security and an aesthetic appearance. Magnetic holders are valued as ideal because they do not damage clothing, are easy to install, and provide stable badge attachment. A model equipped with efficient neodymium magnets and high-quality adhesive tapes, such as 3M tape, is particularly recommended.
No!, magnetic holders should not be used for individuals with heart implants, as the strong magnetic field can affect their functioning. For such individuals, it is suggested to use clip-on holders, and we offer two such types in our range.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time - after approximately 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are extremely resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic sources,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny nickel, gold, or silver finish, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Key role in the industry of new technologies – are utilized in hard drives, electric motors, medical devices or various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and simultaneously increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the power of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent loss in strength (although it is dependent on the form and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Health risk to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, if swallowed, which is crucial in the aspect of protecting young children. Furthermore, miniscule components of these devices have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Be Cautious with Neodymium Magnets

Comparing neodymium magnets to ferrite magnets (found in speakers), they are 10 times more powerful, and their power can surprise you.

To handle magnets properly, it is best to familiarize yourself with our information beforehand. This will help you avoid significant harm to your body and the magnets themselves.

Neodymium magnets are delicate and can easily break and get damaged.

In the event of a collision between two neodymium magnets, it can result in them getting chipped. Despite being made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, tiny sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

Magnets will attract to each other, so remember not to allow them to pinch together without control or place your fingers in their path.

Neodymium magnets jump and also clash mutually within a distance of several to almost 10 cm from each other.

Keep neodymium magnets away from the wallet, computer, and TV.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also damage devices like video players, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets away from these electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

The magnet coating contains nickel, so be cautious if you have a nickel allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Although magnets have shown to retain their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, this temperature may vary depending on the type of material, shape, and intended use of the magnet.

Neodymium magnets should not be in the vicinity youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In such a situation, surgery is necessary to remove them. In the worst case scenario, it can result in death.

Avoid bringing neodymium magnets close to a phone or GPS.

Magnetic fields interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation for air and sea transport, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

In order for you to know how strong neodymium magnets are and why they are so dangerous, read the article - Dangerous very powerful neodymium magnets.
