The most recommended holders for ID badges include options such as this UI 39x9x7 [BA]. They offer resilience and an aesthetic appearance. Magnetic holders are acknowledged as optimal because they do not damage clothing, are user-friendly, and provide stable badge attachment. A model equipped with powerful neodymium magnets and high-quality adhesive tapes, such as 3M tape, is especially recommended.
No!, magnetic holders are not recommended for individuals with cardiac pacemakers, as the strong magnetic field can affect their functioning. For such individuals, it is recommended to use alternative fastening methods, and we offer two such types in our range.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time. After 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic field extremely well,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping and the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Significant importance in advanced technologically fields – find application in hard drives, electric motors, medical equipment or very advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a powerful impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, it is suggested using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and also increases its overall strength,
  • They lose strength at high temperatures. Most neodymium magnets experience permanent loss of strength when heated above 80°C (depending on the form and height). However, we also offer special magnets with high temperature resistance, up to 230°C,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Health risk arising from small pieces of magnets are risky, in case of ingestion, which is particularly important in the aspect of protecting young children. Furthermore, small elements of these devices have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Safety Guidelines with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets are delicate as well as can easily crack as well as get damaged.

Neodymium magnets are delicate as well as will break if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. Despite being made of metal as well as coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, tiny sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be brought close to GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Avoid contact with neodymium magnets if you have a nickel allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

It is important to maintain neodymium magnets out of reach from youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Be cautious and make sure no child plays with them. In the case of swallowing multiple magnets simultaneously, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to death.

Comparing neodymium magnets to ferrite magnets (found in speakers), they are 10 times more powerful, and their power can shock you.

To use magnets properly, it is best to familiarize yourself with our information beforehand. This will help you avoid significant harm to your body and the magnets themselves.

Make sure not to bring neodymium magnets close to the TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

Strong fields generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other similar devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. You should especially avoid placing neodymium magnets near electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Under specific conditions, Neodymium magnets may experience demagnetization when subjected to high temperatures.

People with pacemakers are advised to avoid neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets generate very strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This is because many of these devices are equipped with a function that deactivates the device in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets are primarily characterized by their significant internal force. They attract to each other, and any object that comes in their way will be affected.

Magnets will crack or crumble with careless joining to each other. Remember not to move them to each other or hold them firmly in hands at a distance less than 10 cm.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

To raise awareness of why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, see the article titled How very dangerous are powerful neodymium magnets?.
