The most preferred holders for ID badges include options such as this UI 39x9x7 [BA]. They offer resilience and an aesthetic appearance. Magnetic mounts are considered as the best because they protect clothing, are user-friendly, and provide stable badge attachment. A model utilizing efficient neodymium magnets and high-quality adhesive tapes, such as 3M tape, is exceptionally suggested.
No!, magnetic holders are not recommended for individuals with cardiac pacemakers, as the strong magnetic field may interfere with their functioning. For such individuals, it is advised to use clip-on holders, and we offer two such types in our range.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time - after 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are highly resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic field,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Wide application in advanced technologically fields – are utilized in HDD drives, electric motors, medical apparatus or very advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, it is suggested using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and simultaneously increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their power due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the shape and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk to health from tiny fragments of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which is particularly important in the aspect of protecting young children. It's also worth noting that small elements of these devices can hinder the diagnostic process after entering the body.

Precautions

You should keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from the wallet, computer, and TV.

Neodymium magnets generate intense magnetic fields that can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also destroy videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets away from these electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Despite the general resilience of magnets, their ability to maintain their magnetic potency can be influenced by factors like the type of material used, the magnet's shape, and the intended purpose for which it is employed.

Magnets made of neodymium are delicate as well as can easily break and get damaged.

Neodymium magnetic are fragile as well as will crack if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant swellings.

In the situation of placing a finger in the path of a neodymium magnet, in such a case, a cut or a fracture may occur.

Neodymium magnets are among the strongest magnets on Earth. The surprising force they generate between each other can shock you.

Please review the information on how to handle neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body, as well as prevent unintentional disruption to the magnets.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be brought close to GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

It is important to keep neodymium magnets out of reach from youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

The magnet is coated with nickel - be careful if you have an allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

People with pacemakers are advised to avoid neodymium magnets.

In the case of neodymium magnets, there is a strong magnetic field. As a result, it interferes with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

In order to illustrate why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, see the article - How very dangerous are very strong neodymium magnets?.
