Neodymium magnets MP 62x42x25 / N38 in a ring-shaped form are frequently used in various industries due to their specific properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 59.85 kg, which can be described as force, they are extremely useful in applications that require strong magnetism in a compact space. Applications of MP 62x42x25 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, sound devices, and several other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 306.31 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.
Ring magnets work due to their atomic structure. In the production process, neodymium atoms are arranged appropriately, which allows for the creation of a concentrated magnetic field in a specific direction. This makes them perfect for devices such as stepper motors or industrial robots. Moreover, ring magnets are resistant to demagnetization.
They are used in various fields of technology and industry, such as production of electronic devices, such as speakers and electric motors, automotive, where they are used in brushless electric motors, and medical equipment, e.g., in scanning devices. Thanks to their temperature resistance and precision makes them ideal for technologically advanced applications.
Their uniqueness comes from extraordinary pulling power, ability to work in extreme conditions, precise control of the magnetic field. Thanks to their ring shape allows for application in devices requiring concentrated magnetic fields. Additionally, these magnets are significantly stronger and more versatile than ferrite counterparts, making them an ideal choice in the automotive, electronics, and medical industries.
Ring magnets perform excellently across a wide range of temperatures. They do not lose their magnetic properties, until the Curie temperature is exceeded, which for neodymium magnets is around 80°C. Compared to other types of magnets, ring magnets show greater resistance to demagnetization. Because of this, they are ideal for applications in the automotive industry, robotics, and devices requiring operation in changing or extreme environmental conditions.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their strength (of the magnet). After approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are highly resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic sources,
  • By applying a shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • The ability for precise shaping and customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which amplifies their universality in usage.
  • Key role in the industry of new technologies – are utilized in HDD drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical equipment and various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a protective case. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and also increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their power due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the shape and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Possible danger to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, in case of ingestion, which is particularly important in the context of child safety. It's also worth noting that tiny parts of these products have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process after entering the body.

Be Cautious with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets are extremely delicate, they easily fall apart as well as can become damaged.

In the event of a collision between two neodymium magnets, it can result in them getting chipped. Despite being made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

While Neodymium magnets can lose their magnetic properties at high temperatures, it's important to note that the extent of this effect can vary based on factors such as the magnet's material, shape, and intended application.

People with pacemakers are advised to avoid neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Keep neodymium magnets away from TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also damage videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Remember not to place neodymium magnets close to these electronic devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Keep neodymium magnets as far away as possible from GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields can interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in aviation and maritime navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices. There are neodymium magnets in every smartphone, for example, in the microphone and speakers.

Avoid contact with neodymium magnets if you have a nickel allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets are primarily characterized by their significant internal force. They attract to each other, and any object that comes in their way will be affected.

Magnets will jump and also clash together within a distance of several to around 10 cm from each other.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever invented. Their strength can surprise you.

To use magnets properly, it is best to familiarize yourself with our information beforehand. This will help you avoid significant harm to your body and the magnets themselves.

It is important to keep neodymium magnets away from children.

Remember that neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. In the case of swallowing multiple magnets simultaneously, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to death.

So you are aware of why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, read the article titled How very dangerous are powerful neodymium magnets?.
