Neodymium magnets MP 62x42x25 / N38 in a ring-shaped form are regularly used in various industries due to their unique properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 59.85 kg, which can be described as force, they are very helpful in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Applications of MP 62x42x25 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generating systems, sound devices, and many other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their significant strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 306.31 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their strength (of the magnet). After approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic sources very well,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element acquires an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by hugely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • The ability for precise shaping and customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Wide application in the industry of new technologies – find application in computer drives, electric motors, medical equipment or other advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a powerful impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts, and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their strength due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent loss in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the form and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • They rust in a humid environment. For outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Potential hazard to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, when accidentally ingested, which is particularly important in the aspect of protecting young children. Additionally, tiny parts of these magnets are able to complicate diagnosis after entering the body.

Safety Precautions

It is essential to keep neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Remember that neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. Small magnets can pose a serious choking hazard. If multiple magnets are swallowed, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls, causing severe injuries, and even death.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

You should maintain neodymium magnets at a safe distance from the wallet, computer, and TV.

Strong fields generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other similar devices. They can also damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. You should especially avoid placing neodymium magnets near electronic devices.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Under specific conditions, Neodymium magnets can lose their magnetism when subjected to high temperatures.

Neodymium magnets are primarily characterized by their significant internal force. They attract to each other, and any object that comes in their way will be affected.

If have a finger between or on the path of attracting magnets, there may be a severe cut or even a fracture.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Comparing neodymium magnets to ferrite magnets (found in speakers), they are 10 times stronger, and their power can shock you.

On our website, you can find information on how to use neodymium magnets. This will help you avoid injuries and prevent damage to the magnets.

Magnets made of neodymium are extremely fragile, resulting in shattering.

Magnets made of neodymium are delicate and will break if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. At the moment of collision between the magnets, tiny sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Keep neodymium magnets away from GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields can interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in aviation and maritime navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices. There are neodymium magnets in every smartphone, for example, in the microphone and speakers.
