Due to unique properties, neodymium element MP 60x20x5 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 5.70 kg, which can be described as force, they are extremely useful in applications that require high magnetic power in a compact space. Applications of MP 60x20x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, audio systems, and numerous other devices that use magnets for producing motion or storing energy. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 94.25 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time. After 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have exceptionally high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve significant thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • The ability for precise shaping and customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Significant importance in modern technologies – are utilized in hard drives, electric motors, medical devices or very highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break when subjected to a powerful impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a protective case. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts, and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their power due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the form and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk to health from tiny fragments of magnets pose a threat, in case of ingestion, which is crucial in the context of children's health. It's also worth noting that small elements of these magnets have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

The magnet is coated with nickel - be careful if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that interfere with magnetometers and compasses used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Keep neodymium magnets away from people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets ever invented. Their power can surprise you.

Make sure to review all the information we have provided. This will help you avoid harm to your body and damage to the magnets.

Magnets made of neodymium are highly susceptible to damage, resulting in their cracking.

Magnets made of neodymium are highly delicate, and by joining them in an uncontrolled manner, they will crack. Magnets made of neodymium are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. In the event of a collision between two magnets, there may be a scattering of fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is crucial in such a situation.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant swellings.

Magnets may crack or alternatively crumble with careless joining to each other. You can't move them to each other. At a distance less than 10 cm you should hold them very firmly.

Keep neodymium magnets away from children.

Not all neodymium magnets are toys, so do not let children play with them. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Keep neodymium magnets away from the wallet, computer, and TV.

Strong magnetic fields emitted by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. You should especially avoid placing neodymium magnets near electronic devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Despite the general resilience of magnets, their ability to maintain their magnetic potency can be influenced by factors like the type of material used, the magnet's shape, and the intended purpose for which it is employed.
