Neodymium magnets MP 40x20x5 / N38 in a ring-shaped form are frequently used in various industries due to their unique properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as lifting capacity, they are very helpful in applications that require strong magnetism in a relatively small area. Usage of MP 40x20x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, audio systems, and many other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their significant strength, they have a comparatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.

Product suggestions

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time. After approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element acquires an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have exceptionally high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • The ability for precise shaping and customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in many variants of shapes and sizes, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Wide application in modern technologies – find application in computer drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical apparatus and other advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • They lose power at high temperatures. Most neodymium magnets experience permanent loss of strength when heated above 80°C (depending on the form and height). However, we also offer special magnets with high temperature resistance, up to 230°C,
  • They rust in a humid environment. For outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk associated with microscopic parts of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which becomes significant in the context of children's health. It's also worth noting that miniscule components of these devices are able to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Handle with Care: Neodymium Magnets

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

You should keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from the wallet, computer, and TV.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also destroy devices like video players, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from these electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant injuries.

In the case of placing a finger in the path of a neodymium magnet, in that situation, a cut or even a fracture may occur.

Keep neodymium magnets away from people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be brought close to GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets have demonstrated their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, the temperature can vary depending on the type, shape, and intended use of the specific magnet.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest, most remarkable magnets on the planet, and the surprising force between them can shock you at first.

Read the information on our website on how to properly utilize neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body and unintentional disruption to the magnets.

Neodymium magnets are characterized by being fragile, which can cause them to shatter.

Neodymium magnetic are delicate and will shatter if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

It is important to maintain neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Avoid contact with neodymium magnets if you have a nickel allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

In order to illustrate why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, see the article - How dangerous are powerful neodymium magnets?.
