Due to unique properties, MP 25x7.5/4.5x5 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 1.71 kg, which can be described as force, they are key in applications that require strong magnetism in a compact space. Usage of MP 25x7.5/4.5x5 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generators, sound devices, and many other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their significant strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 17.35 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time. After about 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are highly resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element acquires an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • The ability for precise shaping or customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in many variants of shapes and sizes, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Significant importance in advanced technologically fields – are used in HDD drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical equipment or very highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, it is suggested using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and also increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the strength of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent loss in strength (although it is dependent on the shape and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • They rust in a humid environment - during outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Health risk arising from small pieces of magnets are risky, if swallowed, which is particularly important in the context of child safety. Additionally, tiny parts of these devices can hinder the diagnostic process in case of swallowing.

Be Cautious with Neodymium Magnets

People with pacemakers are advised to avoid neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be placed near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

Strong magnetic fields emitted by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. Avoid placing neodymium magnets in close proximity to electronic devices.

If you have a nickel allergy, avoid contact with neodymium magnets.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

It is important to keep neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Remember that neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. In the case of swallowing multiple magnets simultaneously, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to death.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Never bring neodymium magnets close to a phone and GPS.

Strong fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Despite the fact that magnets have been found to maintain their efficacy up to temperatures of 80°C or 175°F, it's essential to consider that this threshold may fluctuate depending on the magnet's type, configuration, and intended usage.

Neodymium magnetic are incredibly fragile, they easily break as well as can crumble.

Magnets made of neodymium are extremely fragile, and by joining them in an uncontrolled manner, they will break. Magnets made of neodymium are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. At the moment of connection between the magnets, small metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest, most remarkable magnets on the planet, and the surprising force between them can surprise you at first.

Read the information on our website on how to properly utilize neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body and unintentional damage to the magnets.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant swellings.

Magnets may crack or crumble with uncontrolled joining to each other. Remember not to approach them to each other or have them firmly in hands at a distance less than 10 cm.
