Neodymium magnets MP 25x7.5/4.5x5 / N38 in a ring form are commonly used in various industries due to their unique properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 1.71 kg, which can be described as lifting capacity, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a compact space. Applications of MP 25x7.5/4.5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, audio systems, and many other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a relatively low weight of 17.35 grams, which makes them more practical compared to heavier alternatives.

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their power (of the magnet). After about 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic field very well,
  • In other words, thanks to the glossy nickel, gold, or silver finish, the element gains an visually attractive appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by hugely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping and the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Wide application in the industry of new technologies – find application in computer drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical devices and various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and simultaneously increases its overall strength,
  • They lose strength at high temperatures. Most neodymium magnets experience permanent loss of strength when heated above 80°C (depending on the form and height). However, we also offer special magnets with high temperature resistance, up to 230°C,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk associated with microscopic parts of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which is particularly important in the context of child safety. Furthermore, miniscule components of these products can hinder the diagnostic process in case of swallowing.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets ever invented. Their strength can shock you.

Read the information on our website on how to properly utilize neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body and unintentional damage to the magnets.

Keep neodymium magnets away from people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate very strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This is because many of these devices are equipped with a function that deactivates the device in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Although magnets have shown to retain their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, this temperature may vary depending on the type of material, shape, and intended use of the magnet.

Magnets will attract to each other, so remember not to allow them to pinch together without control or place your fingers in their path.

If the joining of neodymium magnets is not controlled, at that time they may crumble and also crack. Remember not to approach them to each other or have them firmly in hands at a distance less than 10 cm.

Neodymium magnetic are especially fragile, which leads to shattering.

Neodymium magnetic are extremely fragile, and by joining them in an uncontrolled manner, they will crumble. Neodymium magnets are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel surface, but they are not as hard as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, small metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

The magnet is coated with nickel. Therefore, exercise caution if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Never bring neodymium magnets close to a phone and GPS.

Magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Keep neodymium magnets away from TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

Strong magnetic fields emitted by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. Avoid placing neodymium magnets in close proximity to electronic devices.

It is important to maintain neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Not all neodymium magnets are toys, so do not let children play with them. In such a situation, surgery is necessary to remove them. In the worst case scenario, it can result in death.

So that know how powerful neodymium magnets are and why they are so dangerous, see the article - Dangerous strong neodymium magnets.
