Neodymium magnets MP 25x5x5 / N38 in a ring form are frequently used in various industries due to their specific properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as strength, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a compact space. Usage of MP 25x5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generating systems, sound devices, and many other devices that use magnets for producing motion or storing energy. Despite their significant strength, they have a relatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Shopping tips

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time - after approximately 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element acquires an aesthetic appearance,
  • They have exceptionally high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve significant thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping and the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Significant importance in the industry of new technologies – are utilized in HDD drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical equipment or various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the power of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent loss in strength (although it is dependent on the shape and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Possible danger associated with microscopic parts of magnets pose a threat, if swallowed, which becomes significant in the aspect of protecting young children. It's also worth noting that small elements of these magnets have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Handle with Care: Neodymium Magnets

People with pacemakers are advised to avoid neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets generate strong magnetic fields. As a result, they interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This happens because such devices have a function to deactivate them in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets are extremely fragile, they easily crack and can become damaged.

Neodymium magnetic are fragile and will break if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. At the moment of connection between the magnets, small sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

In certain circumstances, Neodymium magnets can lose their magnetism when subjected to high temperatures.

Do not give neodymium magnets to children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. In the case of swallowing multiple magnets simultaneously, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to death.

Keep neodymium magnets away from GPS and smartphones.

Neodymium magnets produce intense magnetic fields that interfere with magnetometers and compasses used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Keep neodymium magnets away from TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

Magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other similar devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. You should especially avoid placing neodymium magnets near electronic devices.

Comparing neodymium magnets to ferrite magnets (found in speakers), they are 10 times more powerful, and their power can surprise you.

Familiarize yourself with our information to properly handle these magnets and avoid significant swellings to your body and prevent damage to the magnets.

The magnet is coated with nickel. Therefore, exercise caution if you have an allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

It is crucial not to allow the magnets to pinch together uncontrollably or place your fingers in their path as they attract to each other.

Magnets will bounce and also clash together within a radius of several to around 10 cm from each other.

Please see the article - What danger lies in neodymium magnets? You will learn how to handle them properly.
