Due to specific properties, neodymium magnet MP 25x5x27 / N38 in a ring-shaped form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 7.70 kg, which can be described as force, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Usage of MP 25x5x27 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, sound devices, and numerous other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a relatively low weight of 95.43 grams, which makes them more practical compared to heavier alternatives.

Shopping tips

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time. After 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element acquires an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by hugely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Wide application in the industry of new technologies – are utilized in hard drives, electric motors, medical equipment or other advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a protective case. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the strength of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent loss in strength (although it is dependent on the form and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • They rust in a humid environment. For outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Potential hazard to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, if swallowed, which is crucial in the context of child safety. Additionally, miniscule components of these magnets are able to complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Safety Precautions

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

In the case of neodymium magnets, there is a strong magnetic field. As a result, it interferes with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets have demonstrated their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, the temperature can vary depending on the type, shape, and intended use of the specific magnet.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation for air and sea transport, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Do not give neodymium magnets to children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Be cautious and make sure no child plays with them. They can be a significant choking hazard. If multiple magnets are swallowed, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls, causing severe injuries, and even death.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other due to their immense internal force, causing the skin and other body parts to get pinched and resulting in significant injuries.

Magnets attract each other within a distance of several to around 10 cm from each other. Don't put your fingers in the path of magnet attraction, because a significant injury may occur. Magnets, depending on their size, are able even cut off a finger or alternatively there can be a significant pressure or a fracture.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets are over 10 times stronger than ferrite magnets (the ones in speakers), and their power can shock you.

To use magnets properly, it is best to familiarize yourself with our information beforehand. This will help you avoid significant harm to your body and the magnets themselves.

Magnets made of neodymium are delicate and can easily break as well as get damaged.

Neodymium magnetic are delicate as well as will crack if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. At the moment of connection between the magnets, small sharp metal fragments can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be placed near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

Neodymium magnets produce intense magnetic fields that can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also destroy videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Remember not to place neodymium magnets close to these electronic devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.
