Due to unique properties, neodymium element MP 25x5x27 / N38 in a ring-shaped form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 7.70 kg, which can be described as force, they are extremely useful in applications that require strong magnetism in a compact space. Usage of MP 25x5x27 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generating systems, sound devices, and several other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 95.43 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.
Ring magnets work due to their atomic structure. In the production process, neodymium atoms are arranged appropriately, which allows for generating a strong and precise magnetic field. This field is ideal for applications in systems requiring motion control. Moreover, their resistance to high temperatures and demagnetization makes them indispensable in industry.
Ring magnets have a wide range of applications in many industries, such as production of electronic devices, such as speakers and electric motors, automotive, where they are used in brushless electric motors, and medicine, where they are used in precision diagnostic devices. Thanks to their temperature resistance and precision makes them ideal for technologically advanced applications.
Ring magnets stand out high magnetic strength, ability to work in extreme conditions, precise control of the magnetic field. Thanks to their ring shape allows for effective use in devices such as motors or speakers. Moreover, these magnets are more durable than traditional ferrite magnets, making them an ideal choice in the automotive, electronics, and medical industries.
Thanks to their resistance to high temperatures, ring magnets operate reliably even in tough conditions. They do not lose their magnetic properties, until the Curie temperature is exceeded, which for neodymium magnets is around 80°C. They are more resistant to loss of magnetism than traditional ferrite magnets. Because of this, they are ideal for applications in the automotive industry, robotics, and devices requiring operation in changing or extreme environmental conditions.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their power (of the magnet). After about 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the glossy nickel, gold, or silver finish, the element gains an visually attractive appearance,
  • They have very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping and the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which amplifies their universality in usage.
  • Significant importance in modern technologies – find application in computer drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical equipment or other advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a powerful impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts, and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their power due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the shape and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk arising from small pieces of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which becomes significant in the context of children's health. It's also worth noting that tiny parts of these magnets can complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Even though magnets have been observed to maintain their efficacy up to temperatures of 80°C or 175°F, it's essential to consider that this threshold may fluctuate depending on the magnet's type, configuration, and intended usage.

The magnet is coated with nickel - be careful if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Do not give neodymium magnets to children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Neodymium magnets are especially fragile, resulting in their breakage.

Magnets made of neodymium are delicate and will crack if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. At the moment of connection between the magnets, tiny sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever invented. Their strength can surprise you.

Familiarize yourself with our information to properly handle these magnets and avoid significant swellings to your body and prevent disruption to the magnets.

Keep neodymium magnets away from the wallet, computer, and TV.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also destroy videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from these electronic devices.

Neodymium Magnets can attract to each other due to their immense internal force, causing the skin and other body parts to get pinched and resulting in significant injuries.

Magnets may crack or crumble with uncontrolled joining to each other. Remember not to approach them to each other or hold them firmly in hands at a distance less than 10 cm.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Neodymium magnets are a source of intense magnetic fields that cause interference with magnetometers and compasses used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

To illustrate why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, see the article - How very dangerous are very strong neodymium magnets?.
