Due to specific properties, neodymium magnet MP 25x12.5x5 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 3.56 kg, which can be described as force, they are extremely useful in applications that require strong magnetism in a compact space. Usage of MP 25x12.5x5 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generating systems, sound devices, and many other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 13.81 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.

Shopping tips

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time - after approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are extremely resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic field,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Magnetic neodymium magnets are characterized by hugely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet and can operate (depending on the shape) even at temperatures of 230°C or higher...
  • The ability for precise shaping and customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Significant importance in advanced technologically fields – are utilized in hard drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical devices or various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and also increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their strength due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the form and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • They rust in a humid environment. For outdoor use, we recommend using waterproof magnets, such as those made of rubber or plastic,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Health risk to health from tiny fragments of magnets can be dangerous, in case of ingestion, which becomes significant in the context of child safety. It's also worth noting that tiny parts of these magnets are able to complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets are the strongest, most remarkable magnets on the planet, and the surprising force between them can surprise you at first.

Familiarize yourself with our information to correctly handle these magnets and avoid significant injuries to your body and prevent damage to the magnets.

Magnets are not toys, youngest should not play with them.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. In the case of swallowing multiple magnets simultaneously, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to death.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Although magnets have shown to retain their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, this temperature may vary depending on the type of material, shape, and intended use of the magnet.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be brought close to GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets are primarily characterized by their significant internal force. They attract to each other, and any object that comes in their way will be affected.

Neodymium magnets will jump and also clash together within a distance of several to almost 10 cm from each other.

Neodymium magnets are delicate and can easily break as well as get damaged.

Neodymium magnetic are fragile and will shatter if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. Despite being made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. At the moment of connection between the magnets, small sharp metal pieces can be propelled in various directions at high speed. Eye protection is recommended.

Make sure not to bring neodymium magnets close to the TV, wallet, and computer HDD.

Strong fields generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other similar devices. In addition, they can damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. Avoid placing neodymium magnets in close proximity to electronic devices.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.
