Neodymium magnets MP 24x16x2 / N38 in a ring form are regularly used in various industries due to their unique properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 1.77 kg, which can be described as force, they are extremely useful in applications that require strong magnetism in a compact space. Applications of MP 24x16x2 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generating systems, audio systems, and several other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their significant strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 3.77 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Shopping tips

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose strength over time - after approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are highly resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic sources,
  • By applying a shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Wide application in advanced technologically fields – find application in computer drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical apparatus and very highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and simultaneously increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the power of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent reduction in strength (although it is dependent on the form and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Health risk arising from small pieces of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which is crucial in the context of child safety. Furthermore, miniscule components of these magnets have the potential to hinder the diagnostic process when they are in the body.

Handle Neodymium Magnets with Caution

The magnet is coated with nickel. Therefore, exercise caution if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever invented. Their power can shock you.

On our website, you can find information on how to use neodymium magnets. This will help you avoid injuries and prevent damage to the magnets.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. Even if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the entire device.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation for air and sea transport, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Do not place neodymium magnets near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also destroy devices like video players, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Remember not to place neodymium magnets close to these electronic devices.

Magnets are not toys, children should not play with them.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. Small magnets pose a serious choking hazard or can attract to each other in the intestines. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant injuries.

Magnets may crack or crumble with uncontrolled joining to each other. You can't move them to each other. At a distance less than 10 cm you should hold them very firmly.

Neodymium magnetic are extremely delicate, they easily crack as well as can crumble.

Neodymium magnets are characterized by considerable fragility. Magnets made of neodymium are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, small metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets have demonstrated their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, the temperature can vary depending on the type, shape, and intended use of the specific magnet.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.
