Neodymium magnets MP 20x8/4x3 / N38 in a ring form are frequently used in various industries due to their specific properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as strength, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Applications of MP 20x8/4x3 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generating systems, sound devices, and several other devices that use magnets for producing motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more practical compared to bulkier alternatives.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

In addition to immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their power (of the magnet). After approximately 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are extremely resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic field,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve significant thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping and the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which amplifies their universality in usage.
  • Wide application in modern technologies – are used in HDD drives, electric motors, medical apparatus or very advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their strength due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent reduction in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the shape and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Possible danger to health from tiny fragments of magnets are risky, when accidentally ingested, which becomes significant in the context of children's health. Additionally, small elements of these magnets are able to complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Precautions

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be placed near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

The strong magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also damage devices like video players, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets away from these electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever created, and their power can surprise you.

On our website, you can find information on how to use neodymium magnets. This will help you avoid injuries and prevent damage to the magnets.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be brought close to GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant swellings.

Neodymium magnets jump and also clash mutually within a distance of several to almost 10 cm from each other.

Magnets made of neodymium are highly fragile, they easily fall apart and can crumble.

Neodymium magnetic are extremely delicate, and by joining them in an uncontrolled manner, they will crumble. Neodymium magnetic are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. At the moment of connection between the magnets, sharp metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Magnets should not be treated as toys. Therefore, it is not recommended for children to have access to them.

Not all neodymium magnets are toys, so do not let children play with them. In such a situation, surgery is necessary to remove them. In the worst case scenario, it can result in death.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate very strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This is because many of these devices are equipped with a function that deactivates the device in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets are generally resilient, their ability to retain their magnetic strength can be influenced by factors like the type of material used, the magnet's shape, and the intended purpose for which it is employed.
