Neodymium magnets MP 20x5x5 / N38 in a ring form are regularly used in various industries due to their specific properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as strength, they are extremely useful in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Usage of MP 20x5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, audio systems, and numerous other devices that use magnets for generating motion or storing energy. Despite their significant strength, they have a relatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more practical compared to heavier alternatives.

Advantages and disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose their strength (of the magnet). After approximately 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic field extremely well,
  • By applying a shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Due to the option of accurate forming or adaptation to individual needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Wide application in modern technologies – find application in computer drives, electric motors, medical apparatus or very advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a steel housing. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the strength of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent loss in strength (although it is dependent on the form and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Health risk arising from small pieces of magnets pose a threat, if swallowed, which is crucial in the context of children's health. It's also worth noting that small elements of these products have the potential to complicate diagnosis in case of swallowing.

Be Cautious with Neodymium Magnets

Keep neodymium magnets away from the wallet, computer, and TV.

Neodymium magnets generate intense magnetic fields that can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also damage videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets away from these electronic devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

The magnet is coated with nickel. Therefore, exercise caution if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets have shown to retain their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, this temperature may vary depending on the type of material, shape, and intended use of the magnet.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant injuries.

Neodymium magnets bounce and also clash mutually within a distance of several to around 10 cm from each other.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets ever invented. Their power can shock you.

On our website, you can find information on how to use neodymium magnets. This will help you avoid injuries and prevent damage to the magnets.

Keep neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Remember that neodymium magnets are not toys. Do not allow children to play with them. Small magnets can pose a serious choking hazard. If multiple magnets are swallowed, they can attract to each other through the intestinal walls, causing severe injuries, and even death.

Keep neodymium magnets away from GPS and smartphones.

Neodymium magnets are a source of intense magnetic fields that cause interference with magnetometers and compasses used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Magnets made of neodymium are highly susceptible to damage, leading to breaking.

Neodymium magnets are characterized by considerable fragility. Neodymium magnetic are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, small metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets produce strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.
