Neodymium magnets MP 20x5x5 / N38 in a ring form are commonly used in various industries due to their unique properties. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as strength, they are extremely useful in applications that require strong magnetism in a relatively small area. Applications of MP 20x5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generators, audio systems, and many other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their significant strength, they have a relatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time. After 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • In other words, thanks to the glossy nickel, gold, or silver finish, the element gains an visually attractive appearance,
  • They have very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • The ability for precise shaping or customization to specific needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Key role in the industry of new technologies – are utilized in hard drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical apparatus and very modern machines.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are prone to breaking as they are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a protective case. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and simultaneously increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the strength of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent reduction in strength (although it is dependent on the shape and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we suggest using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Potential hazard associated with microscopic parts of magnets pose a threat, when accidentally ingested, which becomes significant in the context of children's health. Furthermore, miniscule components of these magnets are able to complicate diagnosis in case of swallowing.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant swellings.

Neodymium magnets jump and touch each other mutually within a radius of several to almost 10 cm from each other.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate strong magnetic fields. As a result, they interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This happens because such devices have a function to deactivate them in a magnetic field.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. Once crushed into fine powder or dust, this material becomes highly flammable.

Magnets are not toys, children should not play with them.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Do not place neodymium magnets near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

Neodymium magnets produce intense magnetic fields that can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, or other devices. They can also damage videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from these electronic devices.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Even though magnets have been observed to maintain their efficacy up to temperatures of 80°C or 175°F, it's essential to consider that this threshold may fluctuate depending on the magnet's type, configuration, and intended usage.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets are delicate and can easily crack as well as shatter.

Neodymium magnetic are delicate and will crack if allowed to collide with each other, even from a distance of a few centimeters. Despite being made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever created, and their strength can surprise you.

Familiarize yourself with our information to properly handle these magnets and avoid significant injuries to your body and prevent damage to the magnets.

Avoid contact with neodymium magnets if you have a nickel allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.
