Due to unique properties, neodymium element MP 15x7/3.5x5 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 1.10 kg, which can be described as strength, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Usage of MP 15x7/3.5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generating systems, sound devices, and several other devices that use magnets for generating motion or energy storage. Despite their powerful strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 6.16 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time - after approximately 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They protect against demagnetization caused by external magnetic sources extremely well,
  • By applying a shiny coating of nickel, gold, or silver, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Due to the option of accurate forming and adaptation to individual needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes, which enhances their versatility in applications.
  • Key role in advanced technologically fields – are used in computer drives, electric motors, medical devices and other highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They are fragile when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts, and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • Magnets lose their power due to exposure to high temperatures. In most cases, when the temperature exceeds 80°C, these magnets experience permanent loss in strength (although it is worth noting that this is dependent on the shape and size of the magnet). To avoid this problem, we offer special magnets marked with the [AH] symbol, which exhibit high temperature resistance. They can operate even at temperatures as high as 230°C or more,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • The use of a cover - a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited production capabilities of creating threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Potential hazard arising from small pieces of magnets pose a threat, if swallowed, which is crucial in the context of child safety. Furthermore, small elements of these products can complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Handle Neodymium Magnets Carefully

Neodymium magnets are highly susceptible to damage, leading to their cracking.

In the event of a collision between two neodymium magnets, it can result in them getting chipped. Despite being made of metal as well as coated with a shiny nickel plating, they are not as hard as steel. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

Neodymium magnets are not recommended for people with pacemakers.

In the case of neodymium magnets, there is a strong magnetic field. As a result, it interferes with the operation of a heart pacemaker. However, if the magnetic field does not affect the device, it can damage its components or deactivate the device when it is in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant injuries.

Magnets will attract each other within a distance of several to around 10 cm from each other. Don't put your fingers in the path of magnet attraction, as a major injury may occur. Magnets, depending on their size, are able even cut off a finger or there can be a severe pressure or even a fracture.

It is essential to maintain neodymium magnets out of reach from youngest children.

Not all neodymium magnets are toys, so do not let children play with them. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Despite the fact that magnets have been observed to maintain their efficacy up to temperatures of 80°C or 175°F, it's essential to consider that this threshold may fluctuate depending on the magnet's type, configuration, and intended usage.

Do not bring neodymium magnets close to GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation for air and sea transport, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

The magnet is coated with nickel - be careful if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful magnets ever created, and their power can surprise you.

Familiarize yourself with our information to correctly handle these magnets and avoid significant injuries to your body and prevent damage to the magnets.

Do not place neodymium magnets near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

Neodymium magnets generate strong magnetic fields that can damage magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also damage videos, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Remember not to place neodymium magnets close to these electronic devices.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.
