Due to unique properties, neodymium element MP 15x7/3.5x5 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of 1.10 kg, which can be described as strength, they are very helpful in applications that require strong magnetism in a relatively small area. Usage of MP 15x7/3.5x5 / N38 magnets include electrical mechanisms, generating systems, sound devices, and several other devices that use magnets for producing motion or storing energy. Despite their significant strength, they have a comparatively low weight of 6.16 grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to heavier alternatives.

Product suggestions

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense power, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time - after 10 years, their power decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are exceptionally resistant to demagnetization caused by an external magnetic field,
  • Thanks to the shiny finish and nickel, gold, or silver coating, they have an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit very high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • By using an appropriate combination of materials, they can achieve high thermal resistance, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Thanks to the flexibility in shaping or the ability to adapt to specific requirements – neodymium magnets can be produced in many variants of shapes or sizes, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Wide application in modern technologies – are used in hard drives, electric drive mechanisms, medical equipment and various technologically advanced devices.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break when subjected to a strong impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, we recommend using magnets in a protective case. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts, and at the same time increases its overall strength,
  • High temperatures can reduce the strength of neodymium magnets. Typically, after heating above 80°C, most of them experience a permanent reduction in strength (although it is dependent on the shape and size). To prevent this, we offer special magnets marked with the symbol [AH], which are highly resistant to high temperatures. They can operate even at temperatures up to 230°C, making them an ideal solution for applications requiring high-temperature operation,
  • Due to their susceptibility to corrosion in a humid environment, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials when using them outdoors,
  • The use of a cover or a magnetic holder is recommended due to the limited possibilities of manufacturing threads or complex shapes in the magnet
  • Possible danger arising from small pieces of magnets are risky, in case of ingestion, which is particularly important in the aspect of protecting young children. It's also worth noting that miniscule components of these devices are able to hinder the diagnostic process after entering the body.

Handle Neodymium Magnets with Caution

Neodymium magnets can become demagnetized at high temperatures.

Although magnets have demonstrated their effectiveness up to 80°C or 175°F, the temperature can vary depending on the type, shape, and intended use of the specific magnet.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets ever invented. Their power can shock you.

Make sure to review all the information we have provided. This will help you avoid harm to your body and damage to the magnets.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other due to their immense internal force, causing the skin and other body parts to get pinched and resulting in significant swellings.

Magnets will crack or alternatively crumble with careless connecting to each other. You can't approach them to each other. At a distance less than 10 cm you should have them very firmly.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate strong magnetic fields. As a result, they interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This happens because such devices have a function to deactivate them in a magnetic field.

The magnet coating is made of nickel, so be cautious if you have an allergy.

Studies clearly indicate a small percentage of people who suffer from metal allergies such as nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, try wearing gloves or avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

You should keep neodymium magnets at a safe distance from the wallet, computer, and TV.

Neodymium magnets generate intense magnetic fields that can destroy magnetic media such as floppy disks, video tapes, HDDs, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, etc. devices. They can also destroy devices like video players, televisions, CRT computer monitors. Do not forget to keep neodymium magnets away from these electronic devices.

Keep neodymium magnets away from GPS and smartphones.

Magnetic fields can interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in aviation and maritime navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices. There are neodymium magnets in every smartphone, for example, in the microphone and speakers.

It is important to maintain neodymium magnets away from youngest children.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. Small magnets pose a serious choking hazard or can attract to each other in the intestines. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Neodymium magnetic are particularly delicate, which leads to their breakage.

In the event of a collision between two neodymium magnets, it can result in them getting chipped. They are coated with a shiny nickel plating similar to steel, but they are not as hard. In the case of a collision between two magnets, there can be a scattering of small sharp metal fragments in different directions. Protecting your eyes is essential.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Avoid drilling or mechanical processing of neodymium magnets. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

To raise awareness of why neodymium magnets are so dangerous, see the article titled How very dangerous are powerful neodymium magnets?.
