Due to specific properties, neodymium element MP 14x8/4x3 / N38 in a ring form finds extensive use in various industries. Thanks to a powerful magnetic field of ${capacity} kg, which can be described as strength, they are key in applications that require high magnetic power in a relatively small area. Applications of MP 14x8/4x3 / N38 magnets include electric motors, generators, sound devices, and many other devices that use magnets for producing motion or storing energy. Despite their powerful strength, they have a relatively low weight of ${weight} grams, which makes them more convenient to use compared to bulkier alternatives.

Compilation of suggested goods

Advantages as well as disadvantages of neodymium magnets NdFeB.

Apart from immense strength, neodymium magnets have the following advantages:

  • They do not lose power over time - after 10 years, their strength decreases by only ~1% (theoretically),
  • They are highly resistant to demagnetization by external magnetic sources,
  • In other words, thanks to the shiny nickel, gold, or silver finish, the element gains an aesthetic appearance,
  • They exhibit extremely high magnetic induction on the surface of the magnet,
  • Thanks to their high temperature resistance, they can operate (depending on the form) even at temperatures up to 230°C and above...
  • Due to the option of accurate forming or adaptation to individual needs – neodymium magnets can be produced in various forms and dimensions, which expands the range of their possible uses.
  • Key role in advanced technologically fields – find application in hard drives, electric motors, medical devices or very highly developed apparatuses.

Disadvantages of neodymium magnets:

  • They can break as they are extremely fragile when subjected to a powerful impact. If the magnets are exposed to impacts, it is suggested using magnets in a metal holder. The steel housing in the form of a holder protects the magnet from impacts and also increases its overall strength,
  • They lose power at high temperatures. Most neodymium magnets experience permanent loss of strength when heated above 80°C (depending on the form and height). However, we also offer special magnets with high temperature resistance, up to 230°C,
  • Magnets exposed to a humid environment can corrode. Therefore, when using them outdoors, we recommend using waterproof magnets made of rubber, plastic, or other moisture-resistant materials,
  • Limited ability to create threads or complex shapes in the magnet - the use of a housing is recommended - magnetic holder
  • Possible danger associated with microscopic parts of magnets can be dangerous, in case of ingestion, which becomes significant in the aspect of protecting young children. Furthermore, small elements of these products are able to complicate diagnosis when they are in the body.

Exercise Caution with Neodymium Magnets

Keep neodymium magnets away from GPS and smartphones.

Intense magnetic fields generated by neodymium magnets interfere with compasses and magnetometers used in navigation, as well as internal compasses of smartphones and GPS devices.

Neodymium magnets are the most powerful, most remarkable magnets on the planet, and the surprising force between them can surprise you at first.

Please review the information on how to handle neodymium magnets and avoid significant harm to your body, as well as prevent unintentional damage to the magnets.

Under no circumstances should neodymium magnets be placed near a computer HDD, TV, and wallet.

Strong magnetic fields emitted by neodymium magnets can damage magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, credit cards, magnetic ID cards, cassette tapes, video tapes, or other devices. They can also damage televisions, VCRs, computer monitors, and CRT displays. Avoid placing neodymium magnets in close proximity to electronic devices.

The magnet is coated with nickel - be careful if you have an allergy.

Studies show a small percentage of people have allergies to certain metals, including nickel. An allergic reaction often manifests as skin redness and rash. If you have a nickel allergy, you can try wearing gloves or simply avoid direct contact with nickel-plated neodymium magnets.

Neodymium magnets can attract to each other, pinch the skin, and cause significant injuries.

Magnets attract each other within a distance of several to about 10 cm from each other. Don't put your fingers in the path of magnet attraction, because a serious injury may occur. Depending on how large the neodymium magnets are, they can lead to a cut or alternatively a fracture.

Dust and powder from neodymium magnets are highly flammable.

Do not attempt to drill into neodymium magnets. Mechanical processing is also not recommended. If the magnet is crushed into fine powder or dust, it becomes highly flammable.

Neodymium magnets should not be near people with pacemakers.

Neodymium magnets generate very strong magnetic fields that can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker. This happens because such devices have a function to deactivate them in a magnetic field.

Neodymium magnets are delicate and can easily break and shatter.

Magnets made of neodymium are extremely fragile, and by joining them in an uncontrolled manner, they will crumble. Neodymium magnetic are made of metal and coated with a shiny nickel, but they are not as durable as steel. At the moment of collision between the magnets, small metal fragments can be dispersed in different directions.

Magnets should not be treated as toys. Therefore, it is not recommended for children to have access to them.

Neodymium magnets are not toys. You cannot allow them to become toys for children. In the case of small magnets, they can be swallowed and cause choking. In such cases, the only solution is to undergo surgery to remove the magnets, and otherwise, it can even lead to death.

Neodymium magnets can demagnetize at high temperatures.

Under specific conditions, Neodymium magnets can lose their magnetism when subjected to high temperatures.

In order for you to know how strong neodymium magnets are and why they are so dangerous, see the article - Dangerous powerful neodymium magnets.
